Voyo Goric (also known as Vojo Goric) is a Serb-American actor and stuntman, known for his tough physical appearance, which brought him numerous roles thugs and villains, and among them is probably his most famous role, as Soviet Sgt. Yushin in Rambo: First Blood Part II.

Biography[]

Goric was born in 1940 in Gacko, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Yugoslavia as Vojislav Govedarica. A common nickname for him is "Voja Krstarica". He is also known by various other names, such as Vojislav Govedarica, Wojo Govedariza, Wojo Govedarizu and Charles V. Torrent. Before dealing with the film lived in Belgrade, and earned a living as a lifeguard on the beach and a bouncer at nightclubs. His biography is already an array of colorful details, such as spending time with personalities who would later become a prominent criminals like Centeno and Ljube zemunci, and an exceptional chivalrous attitude toward women in a series of anecdotes that made it in a newspaper, which declared him a "Colossus gentle heart ".

These stories are fascinated by the famous director Purisima Djordjevic who began to cast Goric in his films, allowing him start a career. In 1981, Goric emigrated to the United States and arrived in Los Angeles, where he got a job as a bodyguard, and then became a personal friend of Sylvester Stallone, who later gave him a main role as tertiary antagonist Yushin in Rambo: First Blood Part II in 1985. His other notable roles include Lionheart (1990), Alligator II: The Mutation (1991) and Nowhere to Run (1993). Voyo Goric is 6' 1½" (1.87 m) in height, several inches taller than Sylvester Stallone, who is 5'10".
