The Mil Mi-24 Hind in daylight. The machines that represent the Russian Mi-24 Hind-D helicopters in the film are actually modified SA 330 Puma transport helicopters from the French company Aérospatiale.
An interesting fact is that the helicopters seen in both films aren't even actual Hinds at all. They are really Aérospatiale Pumas mocked-up to look like the real Soviet gunships. This was a common trick in the 1980s, as when shooting for Rambo III was moved to America, the authentic Soviet weaponry was replaced by mocked-up or fake props.
In the film this helicopter is piloted by only one person whereas the real Mil Mi-24 Hind have a tandem two-seater cockpit (front shooter and rear pilot).
