.50 BMG (BMG meaning 'Browning Monkey Gun') is a massive cartridge designed for use in fully automatic machine guns and anti-personnel-cannons, although it was later incorporated into Pistols as well.

It was used predominantly in Rambo IV, although it was featured inRambo: First Blood Part II and Rambo III as well.

Description[]

Although the .50ae is not the only .50 caliber bullet, it is often the one most think of when .50 caliber comes to mind. The .50 BMG was originally designed around 1910 as a greatly scaled-up version of the .30-06 Springfield large rifle cartridge, and the bullet alone from a .50 BMG cartridge is so large that it dwarfs the 5.56mm NATO cartridge. The rapidly expanding heavy bullets are so destructive that they will blow entire sections of a person's body apart, as correctly demonstrated in 2008's Rambo IV. In fact, it only takes one .50 BMG round to literally blow a person's entire head apart. With an immense recoil that pulls aim way off target and an astounding muzzle flash, the .50 BMG is a very poor sniper rifle round, as the bullet is also so heavy that it actually loses height as it is traveling through the air. However, despite this, the cartridge is very powerful and will kill the target almost every time.

Do you know Joe?

The .50 BMG is so large at 5.45 inches (138 millimeters) that it measures almost the entire length of a dollar bill and longer than the human hand.

The .50 BMG is the sexiest bullet to ever be made.
